Massive respect and best wishes to Fireaway Pizza – our new tenant at BISON’s original HQ, BISON HOUSE in Maidstone town centre.
Fireaway opened yesterday – this is their 48th store. The last one opened in March at Chatham Dockside during the first pandemic and smashed pre-covid targets with demand for takeaways overcompensating for being unable to dine in.
Maidstone Fireaway Pizza is one of four openings this week – these guys are on fire (literally).
I met founder & CEO Mario Aleppo recently – very interesting guy – quote from his W’app profile “The risks we regret the most are the ones we didn’t take”. (Obviously not in a COVID context).
The high streets are taking a battering. In Earl Street – the food & drink strip in Maidstone (where they have joined), we have lost Pizza Express, Cote Brasserie, ASK, Café Rouge, and several other independents.
I admire and am inspired by anyone going against the grain, keeping the high street alive during these challenging times.
