IMPOSSIBLE IS AN ATTITUDE
Wow – what an amazing 48 hours at edie23 – the world’s largest climate action event for business, sustainability, and net-zero leaders.
I got to meet, listen, learn, and connect with some pretty amazing people. I got to speak with head Hans Pehrson about Volvo Group’s EV brand Polestar and their mission – Polestar 0 Project – to make a completely zero carbon car, that’s right every single one of the 50,000 parts made without any greenhouse gases – incredible!
I got to speak with inspirational Fiona Morgan of SailGP about the ‘Impact League’ initiative that ensures as well as chasing medals that their athletes are held accountable to planet responsibilities too. Did you know athletes are now the number one trusted voice/influencers – over 55%, that’s more than everyone else put together including world leaders, politicians, etc.
And I got to meet/listen to some heavyweight game-changers including Paul Polman ex CEO of Nestlé and Henry Dimbleby Founder/Director of LEON Restaurants and from one of my ultimate brand heroes Patagonia the inspiring Alex Beasley.
Show ‘finer details’ were also impressive – all exhibition stands were paper-based and the catering across the two days was mostly plant-based/low carbon and a massive hit with everyone!
I’m going to write a couple of blogs on certain aspects of the show over the next 2-3 weeks as I really think things international brands are doing now can translate into smaller businesses and am keen to share and help deliver this.
Something that really stuck with me from the two days, was a quote that got said more than once …
